OPB expanding online member education sessions

It’s Financial Literacy Month and we’re excited to announce that we are improving member access to pension education sessions by launching regular online webinars!

Previously members could only access these sessions through their employer or Bargaining Agents. These sessions will ensure members have direct access to this valuable service.

The sessions are designed to help you understand how the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP) pension works, how to maximize your pension benefits, and what you need to think about to plan for retirement. To start with you can choose from two offerings:

• The Pension Overview webinar helps early, and mid-career members plan for their future by learning more about the main features and benefits of the PSPP and how to maximize your pension benefit.
• The Pre-retirement Overview webinar assists late career members in understanding the benefits they will receive in retirement, how the PSPP will fit into your overall retirement picture, and how to navigate the retirement process.

The sessions will also include a question-and-answer period.

Our first sessions are now available for registration, log in to e-services to secure your spot! New session topics will be added throughout 2024, including survivor benefits and buybacks.
